Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
SaveWise (“we”, “us”) is a personal-finance app operated by D. Dimitrova as an individual developer. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we are the controller of your personal data. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Data we collect
• Account data: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure, one-way hash — we never store your password in plain text). • Financial data you enter: expenses, income and salary, budgets, savings goals, categories and any notes you add. • Receipt scans: photos you choose to capture and the text and amounts extracted from them. • AI assistant: the questions you ask and a summary of the relevant financial data used to answer them. • Technical data: minimal information needed to run and secure the service, such as app version and basic device/OS details. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
3. Why we use your data & legal bases
We use your data to provide the app and its features (performance of our contract with you); to generate AI answers and read your receipts when you ask us to (your request / contract); to keep the service secure and prevent abuse (our legitimate interests); and to comply with legal obligations. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple and Google — we do not receive your full payment-card details.
4. Third parties we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share only what is needed with service providers acting on our behalf (processors): • OpenAI — to generate AI assistant answers; receives your question and a summary of relevant financial data, but not your login credentials. • Google Cloud Vision — to read text from receipt images you scan (OCR). • Apple App Store / Google Play — to process payments and manage subscriptions. • Hosting and infrastructure providers — to run our servers and database.
5. International transfers
Some of our providers (for example OpenAI) may process data on servers outside the EU/EEA. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal obligations.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account and data directly in Settings → Delete Account, or contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
8. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
9. Children
SaveWise is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept it.
